The one constant through all the years has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it’s a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good and it could be good again.
Now, I doubt our plan was quite as epic as Terence Mann’s famous quote about baseball from Field of Dreams, but there is no doubt that at the core, we wanted to pass on the legacy of baseball to the kids. We wanted our kids to have a local option for organized play without having to go to Lincoln or Omaha. We wanted our kids to be able to field a team and experience a season with the same people they would see around their town, and we wanted to keep the fees to a minimum. There is nothing quite like building up a team with the community around you and watching it grow. It never gets old to see kids grow by learning rules of the game, sportsmanship, teamwork, and finding a new love of a game that us Senior Board Members have had for so long. Our focus will always be on the community we have built up, and continuing to grow each day. We built it, and we hope people keep coming!
